St Stephen's has a long history of involvement in music, theatre, visual art, and a variety of cultural activities.
The parish is a patron of the Grainger Wind Symphony, and XLArts, a co-operative of artists committed to excelling in performance and the fostering of younger musicians and singers. These and many other musical groups hold concerts and other events in the church throughout the year.
Hiring St Stephen's for your arts event
St Stephen's welcomes enquiries from performers and cultural organizations who wish to hire the church for an event. The space is flexible, and seating can be arranged in a circle, or in a conventional block-seating layout.
The church is equipped with simple catering facilities, including a kitchenette in the north aisle of the church which contains crockery, glassware, cutlery, boiling water on tap, and a small refrigerator. Toilets are available on site.
The church has step-free access to the main entrances.
