Richmond Churches Food Centre

The Richmond Churches Food Centre exists to address issues of food security within the City of Yarra.  Supplementary food assistance is provided on a walk-up basis.  To receive assistance you must provide a healthcare or other Centrelink benefit card.  Special assistance is provided to people with bridging visas.  Homeless people are assisted wherever possible.

The Richmond Churches Food Centre is a joint initiative of the parish churches of Richmond: St Stephen’s and St Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, St Ignatius’ Catholic Church and the Richmond Uniting Church. The centre is staffed by volunteers from the churches.

Donations of non-perishable food are always welcome. Foodstuffs that are in high demand include rice, dry pasta, canned tuna, canned meals (including pre-packed meals and soups), canned spaghetti, baked beans and fruit, dry and sweet biscuits.  Ring-pull cans are preferred.

New volunteers are always welcome.  If you would be interested in joining the team, please contact St Stephen’s Parish Office.
